Santa, by any other name, is still the same...
I was enjoying a Cocoa Break today with the elves who sort the North Pole’s mail. As you can imagine, they are very busy this time of year!
One of them mentioned how they sort my mail according to the name on the envelope, like Kris Kringle, Santa, and St. Nick. I said, “my, that must create a lot of piles!” In the many countries around the world, I am known by different names. The Dutch know me as “Sinterklaas”; in Finland, my name is “Joulupikki”; and in Japan, I am “Hoteisho”. “Father Christmas” is a name I enjoy in many countries. In Italy, it is translated to “Babbo Natale”; the French people call me “Père Noël”; and in Germany, Father Christmas is “Der Weihnachtsmann”, although I am also called “Christkindle” in that country, too.
Like me, my elves speak your language, so don’t worry how your letters are written. Heartfelt wishes ring true in any language, and Santa — by any other name — is always listening from the heart.
